My Story

"Hello! My name is Mitchell. I love Jesus Christ, and I am very happy to be studying in a Christian school. My favorite subjects are Biology and Chemistry. At Kinyago Dandora Schools, we have a conducive environment for learning where we receive quality education, healthcare, proper nutrition, and guidance and counselling. I especially appreciate the Christian teachings from our chaplaincy department.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and for considering being part of my journey.

I am disciplined, committed, and devoted to working hard and studying smart so that I can achieve my goals. I have three siblings: Jovy (12 years old), Philjohns (10 years old), and Mary (6 months old).

We all live together with our parents in a small one-room house in Dandora Phase V. My father does not have a stable job and depends on casual welding opportunities whenever they arise. My mother currently does not work and stays at home to take care of baby Mary. Sometimes my father goes for long periods without getting work, which makes it difficult for our family to meet basic needs such as paying rent and having enough food.

Despite these challenges, I remain hopeful and determined. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity that God, you, and Kinyago Dandora Schools have given me to continue my education and work toward a better future.

When I grow up, I want to become a doctor so that I can help care for people, serve my community and the world."

Kinyago-Dandora Schools

Kinyago-Dandora Schools are located in the heart of Nairobi's slums in Kenya, East Africa. Kinyago-Dandora Schools stand as a beacon of hope for the underprivileged children in the community, who face numerous challenges through the provision of quality education, holistic guidance and counseling, nutritious meals, and healthcare. In a country where the population is more than 50 million, Kenya has faced significant hurdles, including epidemics like malaria, cholera, AIDS, and the impact of a devastating East African drought leading to widespread starvation.

Primary and Junior Secondary Education ~ Our KDS campus has a population of 500 students. The primary level has 400 students while junior secondary has 100 students. Academically, KDS is one of the top schools in the district, boasting an impressive 100% transition rate. Our students not only excel in academics but also shine in a variety of extracurricular activities.

Senior Secondary Education ~ Our Secondary Campus has about 250 students enrolled. Recognized by the Kenyan Ministry of Education as one of the best schools in the Njiru District, KDSS proudly achieves a remarkable 100% transition rate for graduating seniors.

Post Secondary Education ~ Upon completing Grade 12, graduates join Kinyago Alumni Association while they enrol on ICT and Leadership Training Program at KDSS as they prepare to transition to colleges and universities.

The Bernard Sewe Scholarship Fund has been established to support KDSS graduates who attend colleges and universities across Kenya.
