We're sorry, but high import duties and various restrictions with international mail have made it necessary for us to establish a firm policy not to accept packages. However, you mayalways send card, letters, or send a cash gift through our U.S. office for special occasions such as birthdays. Our office will forward your gift to the school in your child's name. All of your birthday cash gifts will go to children as no administrative costs are taken from such gifts. Christmas and Easter cash gifts will supply your child and his or her family a food basket to sustain them through their school breaks when food and nutrition are difficult for families.
Our dedicated staff will use these monies for appropriate items which will be purchased from local markets to give to your child. You will then receive a thank you letter from your child along with a picture of him or her with their gifts.
Please make sure all correspondence has your child's name and ID number clearly written on the envelope.
All Correspondence must go through our U.S. Office at the following address:
If your child is too young to write, a teacher or staff member will write for them. A picture drawn by your child will be included with the letter. In these cases, there will be a special note on your letter to let you know that your child had help in writing his or her letter to you.
Yes! We encourage sponsors to write to their children. Since the children begin learning English once they start school, they are able to write their own letters by the time they reach the third or fourth grade.
Please write to your child by including your child's name and ID number written clearly on the outside of the envelope. All correspondence must go through our U.S. office:
Yes! Enclosed in the sponsorship packet that we will forward to you will be a letter of greeting and/or original artwork created by your sponsored child to begin your new friendship. The children enjoy writing at least one letter to their sponsors each year, as well as sending a Christmas Greeting.
Your child benefits directly from your sponsorship. Your gifts are combined with gifts from other sponsors to provide the assistance your child and his or her community needs most - schools, medical care, nutrition, and vocational training. Our children are nurtured from pre-school through secondary school, ensuring the best opportunity for success. Your sponsorship gifts help make that possible, bringing about a better life for your child, his or her community and future generations as well.
To simplify your monthly payments, your credit card or checking/savings account will be charged $38 every month for each sponsored child. To save administration costs, you will only receive a receipt confirming your first payment. You can track your subsequent payments on your monthly credit card bill or bank statement. The end-of-the-year contribution statement sent out each January will detail your monthly payments.
$38 a month will provide your student with education, nutrition and health care. You can choose to contribute monthly, quarterly, or once a year. We will send you a receipt after each cash contribution with a coupon for your next gift and a return envelope in which to send your check. The full amount of your contributions to Kenya Children's Fund are tax deductible.
